"Delightfully discombobulating."
"Cured my depression for 80 minutes."
"I didn't know it would be so weird!"

The Hungriest Woman in the World is a curious navigation of futility and meaning fuelled by a woman who inadvertently escapes from the confused loneliness of her real life into an audacious, seductive world of theatre and art. The production follows Aimee, who goes to see a play alone when her husband Rob refuses to join her. Her evening at the theatre tumbles into absurdity with dancing octopuses, overly intimate strangers and drunken mistakes. Both tender and hilarious, this play invites audiences to share— as Aimee says— a "secret in the theatre” that will sit with them long after the curtain drops.

Jessica Hiemstra’s simple but transformative set for The Hungriest Woman in the World won her the My Entertainment World award for Outstanding Set Design (small theatre).
